Scrubs" is heading into its sixth season, having received two consecutive Emmy nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2005 and 2006.

In its debut season, “Scrubs” was nominated for two Emmy Awards and a People's Choice Award. “Scrubs” has received a total of 10 Emmy nominations, and in 2005, the series won the Emmy for Multi-Camera Picture Editing. In 2004, “Scrubs” was honored with a prestigious Humanitas Prize. Beginning that same year, the series received three consecutive Producers Guild Award nominations from 2004-2006.

“Scrubs” focuses on the strange experiences of J.D. (Zach Braff, “Last Kiss,” “Garden State”), a medical resident, as he continues on his healing career in a surreal hospital, crammed full of unpredictable staffers and patients -- where humor and tragedy can collide at any time.

Joining the rumpled J.D. at Sacred Heart Hospital are fellow residents Chris Turk (Donald Faison, "Remember the Titans," "Felicity") -- J.D.'s college buddy who is part of the elite surgical group ---- and the beautiful, but socially awkward, Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke, "Roseanne").

Keeping a watchful eye over these young doctors are the caustic chief of medicine, Dr. Bob Kelso (Ken Jenkins, "Courage Under Fire"), the abrasive, but caring, Dr. Perry Cox (John C. McGinley, "Wall Street," "Platoon"), and Turk’s wife and no-nonsense nurse, Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes, "Oz"). A versatile veteran of film, television and theater, Ken Jenkins portrays Sacred Heart Hospital's caustic chief of medicine, Dr. Bob Kelso. "Although most people think my character is too rough on the interns," said Jenkins, "I've been told by some people in the medical field that their 'Dr. Bob' was much tougher. I think the staff just doesn't realize how hard Kelso's job is."

Jenkins began his acting career performing in high school stage productions in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio. "As a teenager, I discovered a love for acting and theater arts that defined me for the rest of my life," he said. He went on to study drama at Antioch College, and performed on Broadway and in regional theater throughout his college years. In 1969, Jenkins co-founded and served for three years as associate artistic director of the prestigious Actors Theatre of Louisville, which became a breeding ground for some of America's best new playwrights, including Beth Henley and Marsha Norman. Jenkins continued to work with the theater as an actor, director and writer through 1983.

During more than 30 years in the theater, Jenkins has been associated with an average of 10 plays a year as an actor, director or playwright. He has portrayed both Hamlet and Cyrano de Bergerac, and performed in other classics by Shakespeare, as well as those by Shaw and Ibsen. One of his favorite moments as an actor, however, was performing opposite his son, actor Danny Jenkins, in the 1985 Broadway musical "Big River."

In 1987, Jenkins appeared in John Sayles' critically acclaimed feature film "Matewan," which opened his mind to the joy of working in film. His recent film credits include "I Am Sam," "The Sum of All Fears" and "Clockstoppers." He has also appeared in such films as "The Abyss," "Air America," "Last Man Standing" and "Courage Under Fire” and is featured in the upcoming Christopher Guest/Eugene Levy comedy feature "For Your Consideration."

Jenkins' television credits include a co-starring role for two seasons on the drama "Homefront," in addition to guest-starring roles on "The X-Files," "Family Law" and "Chicago Hope." He also starred in the television movies "Thirst," "And the Band Played On" and "Hiroshima."

Jenkins is an avid woodworker and a skilled dog trainer. He has three sons, Matthew, Daniel and Joshua, and currently resides in Los Angeles. His birthday is August 28.

Neil Flynn plays Sacred Heart Hospital's menacing janitor in the NBC comedy series, "Scrubs." Although Flynn initially auditioned for the role of Dr. Cox (which ultimately went to John C. McGinley), executive producer Bill Lawrence asked Flynn if he would consider another part - the mysterious custodian who makes tormenting young doctor J.D. (Zach Braff) his life's work.

While the role was originally devised as a one-time gag in the series' pilot episode, Lawrence admitted, "When we watched the pilot, we knew instantly we had to keep this guy around." Flynn went on to appear in every episode of the series in its first season and is currently in the midst of his sixth season as a regular cast member.

Flynn was born on Chicago's South Side and raised in Waukegan, Illinois, the third of six children. Although he acted in plays during his school years, it wasn't until he was getting ready to graduate from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, that he began to think that performing was something he could actually do for a living.

After college, Flynn returned to Chicago and pursued a career in live theater. He appeared at the prestigious Steppenwolf and Goodman theaters, where he worked with Aidan Quinn ("Hamlet") and Brian Dennehy ("Galileo"), and was twice a Jefferson Award Nominee. Equally adept at drama and comedy, Flynn became a mainstay at Chicago's ImprovOlympic and went on to be a member of the Second City Comedy Troupe in Chicago.

Flynn most recently finished filming "Sex and Death 101.” He was seen last summer in "Hoot" and previously appeared in the hit "Mean Girls," opposite Lindsay Lohan. His other film credits include "Home Alone 3," "The Fugitive," "Chain Reaction," "Rookie of the Year," "Baby's Day Out” and "Major League."

On television, Flynn has performed a variety of guest-starring roles on such series as "C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation," "Boston Public," "NYPD Blue," "Arli$$," "The Drew Carey Show," "That '70s Show," "Seinfeld," "Ellen," "Family Law" and "Smallville."

Away from the set, Flynn can often be found honing his skills at the IO West in Hollywood, where he has appeared for five years in the popular show "Beer, Shark, Mice." A sports fan, he plays on a local softball team and also enjoys a weekly game of poker. He lives in the Los Angeles area. His birthday is November 13.

Donald Faison stars as Dr. Christopher Turk on NBC's Emmy Award-nominated comedy, "Scrubs." For his role as J.D's best friend and sidekick, Faison was awarded the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series honor at the first annual BET Comedy Awards in 2004 and nominated for an NAACP Image Award in 2006.

A New York City native, Faison began his acting career as an enthusiastic five-year-old attending the Children's School of Intuitive and God-Conscious Art. His passion and talent led him to study theater at the Professional Children's School.

Faison made his film debut in a role opposite Angela Bassett in "Waiting to Exhale." Shortly thereafter, he landed the role of Murray in the cult comedy hit "Clueless." Faison's performance in "Remember the Titans," starring with Denzel Washington in 2000, showcased his dramatic skills as an actor. Soon after, Faison co-stared with Elizabeth Hurley in the independent feature film "Double Whammy." His film credits also include New Line's "King's Ransom" with Anthony Anderson, MGM's "Uptown Girls," alongside Brittany Murphy and Dakota Fanning, "Big Fat Liar," "Josie and the Pussycats," "Trippin,'" "Can't Hardly Wait," "New Jersey Drive," "Prep," "Juice," "Venus and Vegas" and "Vegas Baby." Judy Reyes is still having fun starring as the sassy, no-nonsense nurse Carla Espinosa on NBC’s acclaimed comedy series “Scrubs.” Currently in its sixth season, the show received consecutive Emmy nominations for “Best Comedy” in 2005 and 2006.

Reyes grew up in the Bronx and became interested in acting while attending Hunter College in Manhattan. In 1992, she landed her first major acting role in the independent feature film “Jack and His Friends” opposite Sam Rockwell, and went on to perform extensively in the New York theater. She is particularly proud of her work with the LAByrinth Theatre Company, a multi-cultural acting space in Manhattan where she is a founding member, along with Philip Seymour Hoffman, Sam Rockwell, John Ortiz and Lauren Velez, among others. She has served with the Company as both actor and producer on numerous productions over the past 10 years.

Reyes' other film credits include the recently released independent picture “Dirty” opposite Cuba Gooding, Jr., Martin Scorsese's “Bringing Out the Dead” with Nicolas Cage, “Went to Coney Island on a Mission from God . . .Be Back at Five" and "Washington Heights.” Additionally, Reyes starred and produced the independent film “Glow Ropes: The Rise and Fall of a Bar Mitzvah Emcee,” with her husband, Edwin M. Figueroa, co-directing with George Valencia. “Glow Ropes” screened and won the Best Film award at the 2005 HBO New York Latino Film Festival. She also acted in and co-produced (with her husband) “Taino,” a short film that was screened at the 1999 New York International Latino Film Festival and was one of four finalists to air on Showtime's Latino Filmmakers Forum.

Reyes' other television credits include a star turn opposite Doris Roberts in the 2006 Hallmark original movie "Our House." She had a recurring role as Tina on the acclaimed HBO series "Oz," and has appeared in "The Sopranos" and "100 Centre Street." Her made-for-television movies include "John Sanford's Mind Prey" with Eriq La Salle, and "The Prosecutors."

Sarah Chalke stars as Dr. Elliot Reid on the critically acclaimed NBC comedy series, "Scrubs." Chalke's Reid is an overly ambitious doctor serving her residence at the hospital, sharing hilarious encounters and poignant moments with the unpredictable staffers and insane patients who surround her.

A native of Ottawa, Canada, Chalke was raised in Vancouver and began appearing in local musical theatre productions when she was eight. A few years later she became an environmental reporter for the Canadian series "Kid Zone." Her big break came in 1993 when she was cast as Becky Conner on the series "Roseanne." She was most recently seen in the Lifetime original movie “Why I Wore Lipstick To My Mastectomy.”

The "Scrubs" star will next star in the feature films "Chaos Theory,"alongside Ryan Reynolds and Emily Mortimer, as well as the comedy "Mama's Boy," opposite Diane Keaton, Jeff Daniels and Jon Heder. Both films are slated for 2007 release.

Chalke's theatrical credits include starring roles in the New York off-Broadway production of "Modern Orthodox" and then in the drama "Create Fate" in Williamstown.

In her free time, Chalke enjoys cooking with friends, playing the guitar, hiking, snowboarding, and skiing (she is an instructor). She also speaks French and German fluently and volunteers at a hospice for terminally ill children. Her birthday is August 27.

Born in Greenwich Village, New York, McGinley’s love for acting began as an undergraduate at New York University. In 1984, he received a master of fine arts degree from the prestigious New York University Theater Program.

McGinley’s first big break in theater came when he took over the role played by actor John Turturro in the Circle-in-the-Square’s “Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.” He went on to perform in numerous theatrical productions, including “Requiem for a Heavyweight” on Broadway as well as “Ballad of Soapy Smith” and “Talk Radio” at Joseph Papp’s New York Shakespeare Festival.

McGinley has also had an impressive career in feature films while portraying a diverse range of characters. He has appeared in over 50 features, including the hit thriller “Identity” (opposite John Cusack and Ray Liotta), “The Animal,” “Any Given Sunday,” “The Rock,” “Nothing to Lose,” “Set It Off,” “Seven,” “Office Space,” “Wall Street” and “Platoon.” McGinley has also served as producer on a number of films including “Colin Fitz” and “Watch It.”

On television, McGinley starred in two Dean Koontz miniseries, “Intensity” and “Sole Survivor.” He also starred in and produced the television movie “The Jack Bull.”

Away from the set, McGinley spends a lot of time with his young son, Max, who has Down Syndrome, and he is actively involved in fund-raising activities for the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS). McGinley serves as the 2004-05 national spokesperson for the Buddy Walk, an advocacy walk organized by the NDSS. He resides in Los Angeles and also enjoys surfing, weightlifting and softball. His birthday is August 3.

Zach Braff stars as Dr. John "J.D." Dorian in NBC’s hit comedy “Scrubs.” For his portrayal of the quirky doctor Braff was nominated for a 2005 Emmy Award and received three consecutive Golden Globe nominations in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Aside from acting Braff has distinguished himself from his peers as a writer and director. With his feature writing and directorial debut, “Garden State,” Zach Braff reveals himself in all three capacities—acting, writing and directing. Braff plays the lead role of “Andrew Largeman” among a cast which includes Natalie Portman, Peter Sarsgaard, Ian Holm and Method Man. With a budget of only $2.5 million, the film premiered at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, where it sold for $5 million in an unprecedented sale to two studios, Fox Searchlight and Miramax.

The film has also garnered numerous awards. On the writing side, Braff received a coveted WGA nomination for “Best Original Screenplay.” The film has also garnered him an Independent Spirit Award for “Best First Feature” as well as a nomination for “Best First Screenplay.” In addition, Braff was awarded “Best Directorial Debut” by the National Board of Review, “Breakthrough Director” by the Hollywood Film Festival and “Most Promising Filmmaker” by the Chicago Film Critics Association. His filmography includes roles in “he Broken Hearts Club,” Getting to know You” and “Manhattan Murder Mystery” in which he plays Woody Allen and Diane Keaton’s son. Braff’s stage experience includes New York City’s Public Theater productions of “Twelfth Night” and “Macbeth” with Alec Baldwin and Angela Bassett.

Braff is currently co-writing with his brother Adam an adaptation of the children’s book, “Andrew Henry’s Meadow,” which he will also executive produce. He recently appeared as the voice of the title character in Disney’s much-anticipated 3-D animated film “Chicken Little” and played the male lead in Dreamworks’ “The Last Kiss.” He can also be seen in the upcoming Weinstein Company’s “Fast Track.”

A native of New Jersey and graduate of Northwestern University’s film program, Braff studied theater acting while writing and directing his own short films. His birthday is April 6.

Lots of changes going on. J.D. has been living in a hotel since the roof on his apartment collapsed; Elliot is trying to adjust to working at a new hospital and Turk and Carla spend their free time trying to make a baby.

Part of the episode is seen through the eyes of intern Keith who has just arrived. J.D. is now an attending, technically on the same level as Cox. Cox gives him five man-cards. Anytime J.D. does something Cox doesn't like, he'll take away a card. When J.D.'s down to nothing, Cox will no longer pay attention to him. Within a minute of receiving the cards, J.D. has the first one taken away. The next day another is taken.

Meanwhile, Turk sneaks J.D. into the apartment, unbeknownst to Carla, until his own apartment is repaired. J.D. tries to be invisible during Turk and Carla's frequent baby-making sessions. When J.D. tells him that Carla's been off the pill for a week, Turk freaks out and tries to sneak a pill into her mouth while she's sleeping. He even tries to slip one into her brownie. J.D. unknowingly eats a brownie that contains a pill. The urinalysis test that he has to take as an attending came back positive for birth control pills. For that, Dr. Cox takes away his third man-card.

Later, Turk finally admits that J.D. is secretly living in the apartment. Carla reacts angrily to that and to the fact that Turk admits that he maybe isn't ready to be a father. She also can't understand why J.D., Turk and even Elliot aren't ready to move on and be real adults.

Back at the hospital, J.D. admits to Kelso that he didn't properly treat his patient that needed a heart transplant. Elliot admits that she no longer works at Sacred Heart and she was just there to steal hospital supplies and Turk admits to Carla that he's scared to be a father.
